The Week Ending May 23 The Us Rig Count Decreased by Four to 1,857

Baker Hughes reported that for the week ending May 23 the US rig count decreased by four to 1,857, following a six-rig increase the week before. The rig count is still up by 95 from 1,762 rigs during the same week a year ago. The oil rig count decreased by three to 1,528, whereas the gas rig count decreased by once to 325.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count continued its modest increase in the week ending May 22, gaining one rig to reach 154 following an eight-rig increase the previous week. The Canadian rig count is still up 23 from 131 rigs during the same week a year ago.
