US-based Tomra Collection Solutions is expanding its Flow Technology across its portfolio of reverse vending machines (RVMs), which collect bottles and cans for recycling.
Claimed to be the world’s 360° recognition system in RVM, the Tomra Flow Technology is a connected system of cameras and sensors that scan each recycled container, helping users to insert containers in a faster and continuous flow.
The Flow Technology includes smart anti-fraud features, which enabled to protect the integrity of the recycling system.
The technology, which is earlier exclusively available on Tomra’s premium T-9 and T-90 RVMs, has been expanded to brand new products across the Tomra range:
T-70 and T-90 are now in Tomra’s InPac product range, which aggregates the consumer interface and container storage in one standalone unit.
T-90 helps stores in receiving higher volumes of containers, while the compact T-70 is suitable for stores with medium volumes and limited space.
Bulk collection is the firm’s new market segment, which includes industrial offering for recycling depots, redemption centers and counting stations receiving large volumes of containers
The firm is also developing smallest machine for use in small and urban convenience stores. It also uses advanced spectrometer technology to distinguish particular sub-types of container materials.
