American Mitsuba Will Invest $8.3m to Expand Its Nalc in Monroeville, US

US-based electric motor manufacturer American Mitsuba will invest $8.3m in Allen County to expand its North American Logistics Center (NALC) in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, US.

With the investment the company intends to buy new equipment, create 25 new jobs and build a new 74,300 ft2 warehouse at NALC, which produces and sells electric motors, actuators and other auto parts.

Construction of the warehouse is scheduled to start in 2012 on the existing building, which is 171,000ft2.

The company said that an actuator is a mechanism that puts something into automatic action, such as windshield wipers or sliding minivan doors.

In order to expand the company's production capabilities, it also focuses on addition of new manufacturing, product testing, and distribution of automotive parts utilizing its NALC.

The company also plans to complete the final phase of its investment by 2015.

American Mitsuba senior vice president David Stevens said that the new warehouse, equipment, and associates (employees) will allow the company to better meet the demand of its current and new customers.
