LEDs Are All Set to Make More Efficient Street Lights with Less Light Pollution

BulbAmerica, America’s largest online and wholesale retailer of light bulbs and lighting fixtures, has announced the launch of an LED support system. LEDs are all set to make more efficient street lights with less light pollution and this technology that now provides the back-light for many flat panel TVs will also replace fluorescent tubes in commercial applications.

Slow in gaining traction, though this technology has been around for more than 100 years, it found commercial applications only in the late 1960s as costs fell. While Japan is the largest market for LED lights, China may follow suit soon due to demands from the government including the 12th Five-Year Plan. With a lot of regulation also coming into play in the United States, nationwide adoption for LED light applications is likely to increase as well.

Currently, there are many policies to phase out the incandescent bulbs, but none in place to phase out compact florescent light bulbs. As a result of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, 75 and 100-watt incandescent light bulbs were phased out and 60-watt bulbs will also be banned soon. LED light bulbs could replace these as well as those curly compact fluorescent bulbs that are stopgaps between incandescent bulbs and LEDs.

A representative from BulbAmerica.com says, “Since day one, our goal has been to earn the trust of our customers. We offer competitive prices along with top notch, honest and upfront customer service during every customer interaction. The LED technology has taken the last 40-odd years to be finally ready for home usage. The new Support System has been launched based on the fact that long-term customer satisfaction depends on our ability to maintain a knowledgeable and courteous customer service staff.”
