Ford Motor Is Recalling Older Ford Escape and Focus ST Vehicles

American automaker Ford Motor is recalling older Ford Escape and Focus ST vehicles, as the engine wiring splices may cause the vehicle to stall.

Manufactured between 2011 and 2013, Escape vehicles are equipped with 2.0 liter engines and Focus ST vehicles manufactured between 14 February 2012 and 14 October 2013, and are equipped with 2.0 liter engines.

Ford claims that the insufficient compression in the engine wiring harness splices to the Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor that may provide incorrect signals to the powertrain control module.

The incorrect signals may cause the engine to stall, by increasing the risk of a crash.

In addition, Ford is recalling Mercury Mariner crossover vehicles from 2006 to 2008, as the motor brushes in the coolant pump fails causing overheat of electronic hybrid system.

Ford will replace the original coolant pump with a pump that doesn't have brushes.
