LCD Monitor Demand in China Is Expected to See Growth, According to Market Observers

While LCD monitor demand is expected to slip overall globally in 2013, demand in China is expected to see growth, according to market observers.

The observers expect to see users in China swap out older monitor products and replace them with new units, particularly from Lenovo, Samsung Electronics, Philips, AOC, Hewlett Packard (HP) and Dell.

Additionally, TPV is expected to be the largest OEM of the technology in 2013, the observers believe.

About 41% of monitor users in China use products sized 20-inch and above, with 14% of those using 23-inch and above size products, research firm WitsView found. About 20% of users use 17-inch products.

The observers also noted statistics have recently shown that the average size of LCD monitor panels shipped during the first quarter of 2013 was 22.1-inch. Most monitor users in China, however, still favor sizes around 19-inch, the statistics revealed.
