Saarstahl Has Announced That It Is Investing €46 Million in The Modernization

Germany-based long steel producer Saarstahl has announced that it is investing €46 million in the modernization of rolling mills, including €30 million for the rolling stand in V?lklingen and €16 million for the wire mill in Saarbrücken/Burbach.

At the V?lklingen site, the existing blooming stand in the rolling mill will be replaced by a continuous rolling mill. The construction work for this project will take place in summer 2015 while operations are still running.? The new continuous rolling mill will go into operation in the winter of 2016. The modernized wire mill in Burbach is scheduled to be commissioned in summer 2016.

The company aims to strengthen strategically important products for the automotive industry and mechanical engineering branches and to be more flexible in reacting to the market through these investments. From 2008 until today, Saarstahl have invested around €1.1 billion.
