Dresden University of Technology Showed Great Interest in The Presentation on The Autocoro

The students of the Dresden University of Technology showed great interest in the presentation on the Autocoro 8 rotor spinning machine with its fully automated spinning units.

Nearly 30 students of textile machinery manufacture and scientific staff from Dresden University of Technology (TU Dresden) took advantage of their visit to the 7th Aachen-Dresden International Textile Conference to take a trip to Übach-Palenberg.

They had been invited by Schlafhorst to experience innovative technology, machinery and automation solutions at first hand. The students learned about the company's unique innovation management in talks and presentations.

In the new Technology Center, Schlafhorst presented its product portfolio, extending from the roving to the process-optimised package. The prospective engineers were fascinated by the way in which Schlafhorst utilises technological developments to increase machine efficiency and the benefit to the customer. They learned at first hand what customer-oriented product development means in detail.

Innovative solutions in the compact spinning of coarse and fine yarns on Zinser ring spinning machines from natural and manmade short- and long-staple fibres met with particular interest. Other highlights of the tour were innovations on the Autoconer X5 automatic package winder with drumless PreciFX technology and the revolutionary Autocoro 8 rotor spinning machine with its completely autonomous spinning units.

Engineering graduate Annett Dörfel of the Institute of Textile Machinery and High Performance Material Technology at TU Dresden, who had organised the visit to Schlafhorst, was enthusiastic about the innova-tions of the market leader.

"The visit has given our students a unique insight into how technical innovations are applied in practice. They learned that outstanding engineering achievements, decades of experience and uncompromising customer orientation are essential to be successful in the global textile markets."

Schlafhorst is renowned for its close links with research and scientific bodies. These links are realised among other things by a dual study programme with the Aachen University of Applied Sciences. Schlafhorst is also involved in the programme committee of the Aachen Dresdner International Textile Conference.
