French carmaker Renault has launched its new Scala sedan in India, which is the carmaker's fifth new model in 18 months of its local operations.
The new sedan, which is produced at Renault-Nissan Alliance plant in Chennai, is offered with two powertrain options including a 1.5 dCi K9K diesel engine, which will generate an output power of 63kW and a 1.5 16V petrol engine producing an output power of 73kW
According to the carmaker, both the engine variants will be mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Features of the new sedan include automatic climate control, stop/start button, dual airbags for driver and passenger, ABS with EBD and brake assist, and front fog lamps.
The carmaker expects to sell about 30,000-35,000 units in 2012 and about one lakh units in 2013.
Renault-Nissan Alliance is also planning to begin exporting the new Duster SUV to the UK by the end of 2012.
