RPC Superfos’ barrier packaging solution SuperLock, which claims to ensure efficient storage and a shelf life of up to 24 months for food products, will now be available from RPC Containers Blackburn.
The new packaging solution combines an oxygen barrier on all surfaces with a membrane seal which ensures that no oxygen is transmitted into the products.
This technology can be used for packaging varied products like ready meals, sauces, soups, fruit desserts, nuts, vegetable spreads, dairy products and pickles.
SuperLock is suitable for both hot and cold fillings for manufacturers which can be retorted for product pasteurization or sterilization. They are stackable for efficient storage and also offer lower noise on the filling line.
The products are also light weight and eco-friendly owing to low carbon, and are fully recyclable.
The company says benefits for the consumers include easy and safe handling, and re-closability. They are also microwave-, dishwasher- and freezer-safe.
SuperLock also comes with an in-mould label which offers high quality printing to create attractive graphics that help create a brand identity for the products. The packaging solution can be produced in different sizes and designs based on the requirements of customers.
