HIGH POINT -- High-end case goods manufacturer Jonathan Charles Fine Furniture has launched a custom dining table program to help better serve design-oriented clients.

The program offers six options for shape; four leaf extensions; six formal and seven country style bases; 11 wood paints and finish choices; sheen, corners, extensions, bases, dimension, styles, panels, aprons and wood, among other features.

In the world of high-end interior design, customers should be able to get exactly what they want, said Jonathan Sowter, CEO of Jonathan Charles.

"We want to help our designers offer better service to their customers," he said.

Additionally, the company plans to launch a website by late November on which customers can create their custom table in a nine-step process and receive an immediate price and delivery date.

Until the website is available, the company has a printed form that customers can fill out and e-mail or fax for quotes.

Delivery through the program initially will take place in 10 to 14 weeks from time of order, but the company is aiming for six to 10 weeks.

"However, if people have a specific deadline they wish to meet, they can inform us even if it is sooner than our default lead time and we will inform them if this is possible or not," Sowter said.

He said the ability to order any of its 150 styles of dining chairs to match the finish of a custom dining table will be the next addition to the custom program. He added, "One of the most common questions asked about the custom dining program was: 'Can I get my chairs to match?'"

The dining products will be produced at the company's factory in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, which employs about 1,400 workers.
