New Green Milk Bottle Is Created by Nampak Plastics

Nampak Plastics has created the new four-pint high density polyethylene (HDPE) milk bottle Infini, which weighs in at just 32g.

According to the UK-based plastic milk bottles producer, the bottle is currently undergoing trials with a number of its customers and represents a 20% material saving on the standard four-pint version weighing 40g.

The company could annually save 15,000t of resin if it moves its entire annual output of two billion bottles to the new lighter Infini.

Nampak Plastics managing director Eric Collins said with HDPE lightweight savings on the industry's current bottle, the new bottle is greener and affordable.

"Since its launch in 2012, Infini has been responsible for a paradigm shift in milk packaging, using considerably less material and more recycled plastic than has ever been achieved before," Collins said.
