The Fall/Winter 2014/2015 Los Angeles International Textile Show (LA TEXTILE) took place September 30 – October 2, 2013 at the California Market Center (CMC) with a solid flow of traffic that included an array of prominent designers, manufacturers and production teams.

The Show featured an increased number of textile, trim, luxe, décor, and sourcing resources across a variety of categories and positive enthusiasm was exuded throughout the Show floors as new accounts were opened and a noticeable increase in business was reported.

Returning this Show were the Lenzing Innovation Pavilion, the European Collections Pavilion, the Korean Pavilion, featuring KOTRA and KTTA, as well as the official Trend Forum, co-curated by new trend partner Design Options, and an assortment of perks for attendees.

“We definitely saw an increase in traffic and new accounts this Show,” said Amy Hendrix, Executive Account Manager of Cotton Inc. “We love exhibiting here because we are able to connect with people we might not have access to otherwise.”

The impressive list of designers in attendance included Monique Lhuillier, David Meister, Halston, Riller & Fount, Holmes & Yang, Johnny Was, Jenni Kayne, Nike, BCBG Max Azria, ABS by Allen Schwartz, Sketchers, J Brand, Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent, Moods of Norway, Perry Ellis, Guess?, Juicy Couture, Citizens of Humanity, Belkin, Ella Moss, Splendid, Nasty Gal, Citizens of Humanity, Lucky Brand, Thursday Friday, Bailey 44, Forever 21, Pac Sun, Chico’s, UGG Australia, Tadashi, Junkfood Clothing Company, Karen Kane, Modcloth, American Apparel, LA Made, Cult Gaia, Kain Label, Fabrizio Gianni, Cosabella, Aldo, Three Dots, Rojas, Lululemon Athletica, Oakley Inc, Hot Topic, and Dillards, plus thousands more. 

Other noteworthy companies seen this show included Disneyland Resort and Costume Department, NBC Entertainment, Michael Levine Inc, Staples Designer Services, Over The Top Party Linens, KOHLS, FIDM, Southern Methodist University, Margaritaville Apparel Group, and Pacific Coast Home Furnishings, to name a few.

Resources at this Show were well-rounded, with categories that included beads and sequins, blanks, color woven shirtings, cotton blends, denim, embroidery embellished beaded fabrics, knits, jacquards, faux fur, interior decorative textiles, fasteners, buttons, buckles, zippers, lace, linen blends, leather suede, organic and eco-friendly fabrics, prints, ribbons, silk, stretch, suiting, technical functional fabrics, appliqués and decorative accessories, trend services, yarns, velvet velour, wool and many more.

First-time exhibitor Allan Liu of Barefoot Fibers also reported having a beyond successful Show. “This has been a fantastic show for us. It is our first time exhibiting, and the response to our wool felt has been amazing. We did not really know what to expect, but the feedback and the traffic we have experienced has been incredible.”

The Lenzing Innovation Pavilion returned for its seventh edition with their impressive network of affiliated exhibiting partners, which included Lenzing Fibers, Inc., American Fabrics International, Asher Fabric Concepts, Britannia Mills Ltd, Buhler Quality Yarns, Design Knit, Inc., Enviro Fabrics, Epic Textiles, Laguna Fabrics, Miroglio, Pacific Coast Knitting, Sextet Fabrics, Inc., Shara-Tex, Inc., Silver Textiles, Textollini, Tuscarora Yarns, Unitex International, Fabrictex, Inc., The Knit House, and Zentex, among others.

“This show has surpassed our expectations, and all our affiliates are extremely pleased with the turn out,” said Susan Mocarski, USA Merchandiser for Lenzing. “Everyone saw steady traffic throughout the three days, and opened new accounts.”

Furthermore, Lenzing and LA TEXTILE co-hosted an Opening Night Reception, Monday September 30, in the Penthouse. The event included appetizers from Mendocino Farms, an organic wine bar from Frey Vineyards, and DJ Lead One spun live beats.

In addition to textile and design resources, the Show offered attendees a packed schedule of complimentary seminars presented by industry luminaries Design Options, Stylesight, WGSN, and Cotton Inc, as well as insightful business seminars from Lenzing, California Fashion Association (CFA), Fashion Business Inc. (FBI), Fox Rothschild LLP, FAB Counsel, Matte Black, plus others.

Designers were also encouraged to explore and seek inspiration from the Trend Forum in the main lobby, co-curated by Design Options and LA TEXTILE, featuring the six overall trends for Fall/Winter 14/15: Winter Wonderland, 70s Revival, Model Movement, Abstract Mode, Join the Club, and Cross Culture. The Trend Forum also featured dynamic F/W 14/15 color directions, offering the industry's most innovative, dynamic collaborative platform for driving superior creativity and design execution.

“Exhibitors and attendees alike were extremely pleased with this edition of LA TEXTILE,” said Oscar Ben Rodriguez, Senior Trade Show Producer at the CMC. “Traffic was steady throughout, and quality resources were plentiful. It was overall very successful.”
