Global O-Xylene Market Showed Downward Trend in The Week Ending March 9, 2013

Global O-Xylene market showed downward trend in the week ending March 9, 2013. In Korea, O-Xylene prices went down last week, due to dull downstream buying sentiment in the region and lower downstream product prices.    In the initial days of last week, prices were assessed at US$ 1585/ton lower by US$ 15/ton, as compared to its previous week. Prices were assessed at US$ 1535-1585/ton FOB Korea.   In S.E. Asia, O-Xylene prices showed similar trend as Korea. In the early days of last week, O-Xylene prices were at US$ 1630/ton lower by US$ 5/ton, as compared to its previous week. Prices were spotted at US$ 1580-1630/ton CFR S.E. Asia during the week.   In Europe, O-Xylene prices declined, due to weak demand from the downstream market. O-Xylene prices were assessed at US$ 1490/ton lower by US$ 10/ton, as compared to its previous week. Prices were spotted stable at US$ 1490/ton FOB Rotterdam during the week.    Contract prices for the month of March were settled at € 1148/ton (US$ 1491/ton) FD NWE higher by € 15/ton as compared to the contract prices of February.   In US, contract prices of O-Xylene for the month of March were settled at 69.50 (cents/lb) FOB US, lower by 2 (cents/lb)  as compared to the contract prices of February due to lower upstream product prices.   Click here to receive latest issue of ChemTrend Report.
