UK's Baker Labels Invests in Roland Inkjet Printer and Matrix Laminator

UK-based printer Baker Labels has invested in a Roland DG inkjet printer and Matrix laminator to expand its Print Bureau capabilities.

The Roland DG's Versa UV LEF 300 flatbed printer, which has been installed at Baker Labels’ factory in Brentwood, will be used to explore proofing/production of specialist work for customers.

Baker Labels managing director Steve Baker said: "We just love printing and there is always something new to learn, another technique or some advance in technology that excites us and inspires us.

“We've got vast experience in our team but have added young, fresh talent in recent months that have lots to learn.

“Investing in a diverse range of equipment will encourage them to test, trial and hone their skills so we continue to improve what we can offer customers in the future."

Said to be the latest, largest and greatest of the VersaUV LEF series of flatbed printers, the LEF-300 is equipped to offer the same color and direct printing capabilities on a vast array of materials, including three-dimensional items up to 100mm thick, as with the other machines in the LEF series.

Capable of allowing printing larger items and higher quantities, the printer features a 770mm print width, four print heads and two long life, low temperature UV-LED lamps for faster curing.

The printer also provides ECO-UV ink options including white ink for clear or dark-colored materials and Gloss ink for gloss and matt finishes, as well as an on-board printable primer for a flawless finish on even more surfaces and shapes.

The Matrix laminator is designed to offer pneumatic options to help create finished bespoke prints using foils and spot UV-style effects.

Bakers said: “Finished prints look incredible and we are excited by the further opportunities and variables the Matrix offers.”
