Flint Group has opened a new facility in the cosmopolitan district of Beylikduzu, in Istanbul, Turkey for its packaging division.
Located 13km from the main container terminal on the European side of Turkey, the new 3800m² Beylikduzu manufacturing and distribution facility is currently producing and shipping products to packaging printers in Turkey, and the Middle East.
Flint Group Paper & Board EMEA & Global Strategy Sales vice-president Kim Melander said: “Flint Group’s Paper & Board business has been a local supplier in Turkey and the neighboring regions since 2008 and our team has been satisfying customers’ requirements with state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities and expert local service for nearly 10 years.
“This additional investment not only solidifies Flint Group’s dedication to the Turkish market, but also confirms our promise to grow together with its customers in this key emerging market.”
Flint said that it initially planned the new facility for water-based Paper & Board business segment.
However, the firm later combined the business with other key segments to provide all needs of the packaging market from single site.
Flint Group Eastern Europe Packaging Inks Operations Director Krzysztof Struszczak said: “Today, Flint Group’s Narrow Web, Sheetfed, and Digital Solutions (Xeikon) businesses have joined Paper & Board in this single facility.”
Melander added: “With this expansion in Istanbul, we now have the ability to satisfy the requirements of multiple aspects of our customers’ businesses under one roof, providing a unique ability to focus on key markets, but also share our knowledge across the full range of the package printing business.”
Flint Group offers product portfolio including printing inks, digital printing presses, blankets, pressroom chemistry, flexographic plates and sleeves, consumables and colourants for printing and packaging industry.
