An Assistance Program for Textile Merchants

The President of Haiti, in presence of ministers and senior officials recently inaugurated an assistance program for textile merchants.

This program, which first has been extended to 100 merchants, has come on the initiative of Pétion-Ville municipal administration, with the help of Unibank, which has opened bank accounts of these merchants.

In addition, the Petionville administration has undertaken an initiative to build a new market, which will has been designed to accommodate 61 merchants.

President Martelly said, “The most important program for me is to allow each Haitian to benefit from better living conditions and request each merchant to deliver better results.”

He also took the opportunity to express his appreciation to the bank for supporting this social assistance program.

Carl Braun, chairman of Unibank said he was pleased to help out the textile merchants and would like to make this program available to all traders in the country. (AR)
