The Saurer Group Appointed Stefan Kross as The New Delegate of The Board of Directors

The Saurer Group, a leading textile industry group specialising in machinery and components for yarn processing, has appointed Stefan Kross, the as the new delegate of the Board of Directors.

Stefan Kross, a long term textile senior executive, has joined the Saurer Board from April 1, 2015. He has taken up the responsibilities as the delegate of the Board of Directors.

Stefan Kross, who holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from RWTH Aachen, has a longstanding experience in the textile machinery industry, especially in the business of Saurer.

Kross started to work for Saurer in 1990. Following different management positions, he was appointed member of the Schlafhorst Board and was responsible for Winding Systems. In 2004, he took the position as chief technology officer of the textile division within Saurer Group, according to a press release.

Besides synergy projects in technology, procurement and operations, he established Saurer (China) Technology Co. Ltd and was responsible for the startup of Saurer (Jintan) Textile Machinery Co. Ltd.

After his journey with Saurer, he worked for 4 years as the CEO of Oerlikon Barmag. Since 2012, he was the CEO of Oerlikon Manmade Fiber (Barmag, Neumag). In 201, he was appointed as the member of executive committee of Oerlikon Group.

With annual sales around €1.0 billion, 4,000 employees worldwide and locations in Switzerland, Germany, Turkey, Brazil, Mexico, USA, China, India and Singapore, the group is well positioned to serve the world’s textile industry centres.
