Eco Baltia Opened a New €5.3m Recycled Pet Production Plant in Jelgava, Latvia

Waste management company Eco Baltia has opened a new €5.3m recycled PET production plant in Jelgava, Latvia.

The new 8,500tpa plant has been established through the company's recycling subsidiary Eko Baltija, plasticsnews.com reported.

According to the company, which collects, sorts and recycles plastics waste material, the plant will convert PET chips to manufacture 270 million bottles.

Part of the plant's output will be sold by the company to the neighboring Baltic State of Estonia.

Eco Baltia also operates other recycling facilities consisting of the PET flake recycling plant of Eko PET and Nordic Plast, in addition to Eko Baltija.

Business of Eco Baltia covers the entire waste management value chain in Latvia, from organization of waste recovery to waste collection, recyclables sorting and trading, and recycling.
