STEAM fashion doll brand and Netflix show Project Mc2 has teamed up with the British Science Association to celebrate British Science Week.

British Science Week launched on March 11th and runs until Sunday, March 20th 2016. The ten-day programme includes a host of science-themed events and activities around the UK.

Project Mc2 is the official sponsor of the BSW poster competition, inviting school children all over the country to design an eye-catching poster based on the theme of ‘Space for Science.’ To enter, children, parents and teachers will be able to download an e-pack from the British Science Week website.

In addition, Project Mc2 will be working with a number of bloggers and YouTubers to run science-themed posts and vlogs during British Science Week.

“Project Mc2 is all about opening up subjects such as science and technology to tweens – especially girls - so partnering with British Science Week seemed the perfect fit," said Marian Davis, marketing manager at MGA Entertainment.

"The brand and product offering focus on S.T.E.A.M. and allow children to take part in experiments and activities at home in a fun and engaging way. We want to encourage the next generation of female scientists, engineers and mathematicians.”

Project Mc2 focuses on four girls, who love everything S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, art and maths). McKeyla McAlister (Mc2), Adrienne Attoms (A2), Camryn Coyle (C2) and Bryden Bandweth (B2) are all members of a secret society called NOV8 and use science and technology to complete undercover missions.

New accessories, based on the Netflix series, launched this spring, including Circuit Beats – that makes music out of household objects– and the Co2 Rocket, that needs baking soda and vinegar to ‘blast off.’ The range will be further extended in AW 2016.
