It Looks Like There's a Super Premium iPhone 8 Plus Coming in 2017

Apple is preparing to introduce a third iPhone tier, according to reports on Tuesday.

KGI Securities reckons the rumoured OLED displays will be reserved for just some of the iPhone 8 Plus models, with the regular Plus retaining the current LCD technology.

Both would have the dual-camera set up, if the report (via 9to5Mac) proves to be correct.

The 4.7-inch iPhone would also keep the current LCD display and will not benefit from the dual camera set up, the analysts said.

The latest word from KGI comes as speculation is already ramping up ahead of the biggest iPhone revamp since 2014.

How Apple would market such a device remains to be seen. Before the launch of the recent iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus it was rumoured Apple has an iPhone 7 Pro device on deck, which did not materialise.

Reports late last week suggested any OLED models would feature curved displays similar to the Galaxy S7 Edge. Perhaps any naming convention would mirror Samsung's example.

Those reports also said the iPhone 8 range would not have bezels enabling the company to boost the screen sizes to 5.0 and 5.8-inches respectively.

Apple is just dipping its toes into OLED displays with the new MacBook Pro’s Touch Bar. Would you like to see Apple embrace the curves with next year’s iPhone 8?
