Axalta Coating Systems to Give Back to Its Philadelphia Hometown Community

Axalta Coating Systems chose this past holiday season as an opportunity to give back to its Philadelphia hometown community. The Axalta Industrial Coatings team came together to help combat hunger by donating their time to its local hunger relief organization, Philabundance. The Axalta team spent the day unloading, checking the quality and sorting through thousands of charitable and nutritious donations to the organization.

Philabundance was created in 1984 with the simple belief that no man, woman or child should go hungry. Its growth and eventual integration with the Philadelphia Food Bank in 2005 has led to it being the region’s largest hunger relief organization. The organization implements both emergency relief and long-term programs to strengthen and fulfill its mission.

“Axalta will seek to maintain engagement with local organizations to help us better understand our role in the community and support local projects,” said Michael Cash, president of Axalta’s global Industrial Coatings business. “By working together with the community, we can establish a greater foundation on which to build a stronger company. There is no quick fix to hunger relief, but we are pleased to help contribute to the process. Commitment and dedication to a shared project also makes us a better team.”

The Axalta Industrial team is excited to continue its group volunteering efforts on a quarterly basis by furthering support to local organizations that make nutritious food accessible to all.
