New FSDU Boosts in-Store Offering

POS unit is available free of charge to retailers purchasing 20 units and encourages shoppers to play the game in-store.

Dialect-guessing game, Accentuate is ramping up its in-store offering with the launch of its branded FSDU, encouraging fans to play the game while shopping.

Created by Rachel Tomkins, a product design student at Ravensbourne University, the POS unit is available free of charge to retailers purchasing 20 units and comes with a free game for demo purposes.

“The unit has been designed to let customers learn more about the game before they buy,” said Graeme Fraser-Bell, co-inventor of Accentuate.

“We listened to valuable feedback from the independent retailers at the London Toy Fair 2015 and tried to incorporate those components into the FSDU.”

The stand features a special section allowing customers to see the contents of each Accentuate box, allowing them to try the game in-store.

“We knew from retailers that this was an important part of the purchasing experience, in particular with a new game; customer want to know what they’re getting and how to play.

“We have spent time carefully ensuring our instructions are clear, concise and enable people to get playing within just a few moments.”

The new FSDU is available from mid-April, free with consignments of 20 games with one extra for display.
