It Is Really The 'year of Bridgestone Brands'

The Year of Aggression: Bridgestone in 2013

Is it really the "Year of Firestone"? Modern Tire Dealer Editor Bob Ulrich would argue that it is the "Year of Bridgestone brands," emphasis on plural.

At least that's what Bridgestone Commercial Solutions seems to be focusing on. The commercial business unit of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations LLC introduced the Firestone Eco Products truck tire line at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky., earlier this year. The line is so important to the company that it is expected to replace the other Firestone lines within the next few years.

At the same time, however, Bridgestone is not forgetting about Bridgestone Ecopia. Or Bandag. Or even Dayton (at least not again).

Is Bridgestone focusing on Firestone or all of its brands? And why did the Bridgestone bigwigs show up in force in Akron, Ohiio, on July 16?

The answers to these questions can be found in Ulrich's latest blog, "For Bridgestone Commercial Solutions, it's all about the brands."
