Apple has only recently let everyone download iOS 10, but we’re already starting to see a flurry of updates, with iOS 10.1 released and now the first signs of iOS 10.2 making their way into the wild.

What’s new? Not too much, but there are a few updates worth knowing about.

Showcased alongside the launch of new MacBook Pro, Apple's new Video app works across both iOS and Apple TV. It's a new way of discovering content across iTunes and other streaming apps. It's US only for now, and it lacks support for Netflix. But it looks to be a nice update over the

Three new snazzy wallpapers have been added in iOS 10.2. The additional options, each of which was used in Apple’s advertising for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, have a black background and floating orb in the middle.

We’re sure they’re designed to bring the best out of the wider colour gamut displays on the iPhone 7, and they do look really good.

What's new in iOS 10.2: Updated emoji

A bunch of new emoji have been added in the first iOS 10.2 beta including a clown, croissant, shark, owl, butterfly and of course an avocado.

Many of the older emoji have also been redrawn to look more modern, with loads more profession-based emoji now available in both male and female, too.

What's new in iOS 10.2: Videos widget

Similar to the Netflix widget, the new Videos widget shows you the programme or film you’re watching, and with a tap you can jump straight back into it without opening up the app.

A nice, if minor, touch.

What's new in iOS 10.2: Save your camera settings

There’s now an option that lets you save your previous camera settings.

This lets you always jump straight into ’square’ photo mode, stick with the same filter or keep Live Photos turned off, depending on your preferences.

What's new in iOS 10.2: Anything else?

Nothing huge, but 'Bug Fixes' is of course listed so hopefully some of those annoying glitches will have been stamped out.

There’s also a new celebration effect in iMessages and star ratings in the Music app.

Where can I download iOS 10.1 and when is it out?

iOS 10.2 is out now to registered iOS developers via the Apple Beta Software Program, and hopefully we’ll see a release soon for public beta testers.

We wouldn’t be surprised to see iOS 10.2 get its final release when Apple's new TV app is ready to go later in the year.
