Romaco Will Showcase Its Anti-Counterfeit System at Achema in June

German pharmaceutical packaging equipment firm Romaco will showcase its anti-counterfeit system for blister packs, at Achema to be held in Frankfurt from June 15 to 19.

The new system, developed in association with Nano 4 U, has been integrated into Romaco Noack blister line 960 and designed for pharmaceutical products.

Suitable for primary packaging identification, the blister line meets the EU Falsified Medicine Directive 2011/62/EU.

Drawing from banknote authentication technology, the new system is claimed to give protection to the primary packaging of pharmaceutical solids. It can be integrated into all blister machines equipped with coding stations.

A hologram stamp provides a unique indication of originality without the need for any additional materials. The security features are applied through a heated coding tool without compromising production speed, the company said.

The individual blister packs contain codes having overt and covert security features. As a result, the packs can be imbibed with visible and invisible holograms.

While the visible holograms could be company logos, combinations of letters and digits, invisible holograms can be stamps or data matrix code that are identifiable through laser pointers.

The Romaco Group creates engineered system solutions for pharmaceutical sector and caters to the cosmetics, food and chemical markets. It functions under three arms of processing, tableting and packaging.
