Korber Completes Acquisition of Fargo Automation in US

German group Korber has completed the acquisition of Fargo Automation, which is based in North Dakota, US.

Fargo designs and manufactures packaging equipment for pharmaceutical and medical device industries. With this acquisition, Korber Group’ Business Area Pharma Systems is expected to further expand its packaging business in the pharma industry.

The acquisition will enable Korber Mediapak Systems and its subsidiary Korber Mediapak Systems North America to extend its portfolio to pharmaceuticals and biopharmaceutical companies.

Fargo’s business includes building customised pharmaceutical packaging equipment, including the syringe handling machines. Apart from this, Fargo offers advanced integration services, which offer complete packaging line with all of the mechanical components and controls tie together seamlessly.

The acquisition was announced in early November last year. The financial terms were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Fargo, North Dakota, Fargo Automation in syringe handling, horizontal form fill seal, digital in-line printing, robotic top-load cartoning, and custom automated packaging equipment.

Fargo claims that all the machines have been designed with focus on performance, efficiency, safety and process control. The company also offers advanced integration services.

Korber is a group of technology companies headquartered in Hamburg, Germany. It has more than 100 production, service and sales sites.

The company has about 11,000 employees and has its presence across several industries including logistics systems, machine tools, pharmaceuticals packaging, packaging of tissue products and tobacco.
