The SIEL Has Closed Its Doors at The Grande Halle De La Villette in Paris

The SIEL, Professional Festival of Live Show and Events Techniques has closed its doors at the Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris. With 125 exhibitors, 800 brands and an attendance of 9732 visitors, SIEL confirms its position as a leading professional trade show.

The concept of SIEL was reinforced this year with more than 40 workshops, lighting showrooms and audio classrooms. Prestigious conferences were also added to those professionals meetings, thanks to the involvement of exhibitors and partners : APG France, Clay Paky, DV2, Profession Spectacle and SGM. More than 150 visitors took the opportunity to attend Luc Lafortune's conference. Guest of honor, the lighting designer of the Cirque du Soleil, spent more than three hours sharing his work experiences, techniques and anecdotes about the shows Ka and O.

For this second edition of the SIEL 'new formula',the Etoiles du SIEL awards rewarded the innovation-products. The 17 jury members, professionals from the audio and lighting fields, had preselected 31 products. On 4 February the jury met on the show in order to attribute 17 awards in the audio, lighting, video, stage equipment and network fields. The full list is available on www.siel-expo.com.

Four personalities of the profession also received a trophy of honour : Dan Bvholm, co-founder of Lab.Gruppen, Daniel Colling, creator of the Printemps de Bourges, Jean-Pierre Ferrandon, Link director, and Luc Lafortune, lighting designer of the Cirque du Soleil.

The late-opening on Tuesday 5 underlined the convivial aspect of the SIEL, gathering visitors and exhibitors in a festive context for the 30th anniversary of the Show.
