Green technology and eco-friendly products manufacturer and distributor Safetek International’s Food Film Division has commenced marketing its new Safetek Professional food service film in North America.
The environmentally-friendly film is used for packaging meat, poultry, produce and frozen foods.
Safetek International president Michael Krantz said initial rollout of the food film packaging is expected to begin in January 2013.
"We have placed an initial order for six 40 ft. shipping containers of non-PVC Food Film with delivery dates starting in January," Krantz said.
Delivery of one container per month has been scheduled through June 2013, while each 40ft container carries about 4000 rolls of food film with each roll of length 5000ft.
The 100% recyclable food film conforms to food contact regulations and is non-toxic and hypo-allergenic. It is economical compared to PVC, and 30% less material is used in manufacturing the film.
