Rexam Along with Eum Acquired a Single Line Beverage Can Plant in Panama

British beverage can maker Rexam, along with Envases Universales de Mexico (EUM), has acquired Envases Del Istmo (Endelis), a single line beverage can plant in Colón, Panama.

The acquisition complements Rexam's existing Central American footprint.

The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Rexam, which offers beverage cans packaging solutions comprising aluminum and steel cans for carbonated soft drinks, beer, and energy drinks, has secured long term supply agreements with SABMiller and Florida Ice & Farm Company.

The affiliates of SABMiller and Florida Ice & Farm previously owned the Endelis business.

Rexam CEO Graham Chipchase said: "We are pleased to have jointly acquired the Endelis business in Panama and expanded our relationship with EUM. It is fully in line with our emerging markets strategy and complements our existing Central America footprint.

"The transaction positions us well to serve both our local and global customers in an exciting growth region."

Rexam currently operates in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, North America, and South America.
