The April 1-4, 2016 event is an international competition and symposium where rope access specialists from around the world vie against one another in a series of challenges. Three-person teams must showcase their skill, speed and respect for safety to secure a place on the podium.

“Petzl RopeTrip attracts the world’s most prominent rope access technicians, companies and organizations and provides them with unparalleled opportunities for knowledge sharing and global networking,” said Dave Hugar, North American marketing director, Petzl.

The final competition will take place on the Salt Lake City Public Library building in downtown Salt Lake City. The general public is invited to attend this free event on Sunday evening, April 3 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The PTI will also be hosting the 2016 Petzl RopeTrip’s first-ever symposium, two days of practical workshops and technical presentations.

In 2014, Petzl opened the 15,000-square-foot technical training center at its North American headquarters to promote the proper application of technical skills. The facility features a 55-foot tall climbing wall with multi-pitch capability, more than 5,000 square feet of exposed structure climbing for tower rescue, and three classrooms capable of accommodating up to 200 people, among other features.
