Epistar Reported February Revenues of NT$1.185 Billion,up 20.91% on Month

Epistar reported February revenues of NT$1.185 billion (US$40 million), up 20.91% on month but down 12.92% on year. Epistar noted that February had more working days compared to January which helped increase revenues. Furthermore, demand for large-size backlight modules has been increasing. Epistar predicts demand in March to exceed February and capacity utilization rates to increase to 80-90%. Formosa Epitaxy announced February revenues of NT$321 million, an increase of 18% on month but decrease of 8.5% on year. Accumulated revenues for January-February were NT$593 million, down 15.9% on year. Formosa Epitaxy noted that demand from TV makers has been increasing and orders have been steady. The firm believes LED lighting will show growth in March-April. Capacity utilization rate has returned to 90%, said Formosa Epitaxy, hence first-quarter 2012 revenues are likely to outperform fourth-quarter 2011. LED packaging house Bright LED saw February revenues grow to NT$262 million, a significant on-month increase of 40% and slight on-year increase of 3.45%. Bright LED also indicated capacity utilization rate is rising. Order visibility is clear, added Bright LED. Industry leading LED packaging house Everlight reported February revenues of NT$1.221 billion, up 6.45% on month and 10.89% on year. Accumulated revenues for the first two months of 2012 reached NT$2.369 billion, an increase of 4.03% on year. Ledtech reported February consolidated revenues of NT$109 million, down from NT$123 million in January, but up 18% compared to February 2011.
