Toowoomba-based Downs Office Equipment & Supplies and Cloud Office Supplies at Tweed Heads have taken out top honours in the 2012 Brother/Stationery News Reseller of the Year Awards, with Impact Office Supplies (Brisbane) and The Paper Bahn (Adelaide) being named runner-up in their respective divisions.
Around 120 people attended this year's awards presentation at the Clovelly Surf Club in Sydney on 21 September.
Downs Office Equipment & Supplies (DOE&S) sales manager Dale Robbins said the award capped a memorable year for the company, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
Office National member DOE&S has revenues of around $14 million and is one of the most successful regional businesses in south-east Queensland.
The winner of the under $5 million category, Cloud Office Supplies at Tweed Heads, earlier this year joined ASA-Australia.
Cloud Office Supplies principal Marty Bate said the award reflected his commitment to delivering "fresh, new and thought-provoking ideas" in the technological era and creating a "point of difference" in the rapidly developing online space.
The other finalists in the under $5 million category were Humphreys Office Supplies (NSW) and Office Choice Malaga (WA).
The other finalists in the over $5 million category were Total Office National (Victoria), Stationery Wholesalers (NSW), Adelaide Direct Stationers (SA), Capital Office Choice (NSW), Impact Office Supplies (Queensland), Penfold By Office Choice (SA), Quick Corporate (WA). Past winner Surry Office National (NSW) qualified as a finalist but chose not to participate in the competition.
