Renault Has Shaped a JV with SNVI and FNI to Develop The Automotive Industry in Algeria

Renault has formed a joint venture (JV) with Société Nationale de Véhicules Industriels (SNVI) and National Investment Fund (FNI) for the development of the automotive industry in Algeria.

The plant will include Renault's 49%, SVNI's 34% and FNI's 17% stake.

According to the agreement, Renault will set up a manufacturing plant in Oued Tlelat, Southwest of Oran, Algeria to manufacture its passenger cars and LCVs.

It will have the capacity to produce 25,000 vehicles per year that can be increased to 75,000 units per year, depending on the market.

The project also involves a training program based on Renault's know-how and technology, at the Tlelat/Oran training centre.
