Thailand's Boutique New York City Is Planning to Open Spanish Outlet

Thai retailer Boutique New York City has entered into a partnership deal with the Spanish fashion brand Trucco. The retailer is soon going to open the Spanish-owned women's clothing brand’s first flagship store in Bangkok.

The 127 square metre outlet, built with an investment of 10 million baht, would feature nearly 15 to 20 pieces from twelve to fifteen collections every season, said Bangkok Post.

Affected by the rising wages and scarcity of skilled workers in Thailand, Boutique New York City has started marketing more imported fashion brands than the domestic ones in recent times.

In addition to its Trucco outlet, which is scheduled to open in January 2013, the retailer has brought many other international brands, including Adolfo Domiaacnguez, Guy Laroche, L'Officiel, Feraud, GSP and Jousse, to Thailand in the past.

Even though the company has shifted its focus to market more of imported products, it also plans to export personal brands to foreign shores after the forthcoming Asean Economic Community in 2016. The firm has earlier exported its apparels to Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia and Singapore.

Founded in 1984, Boutique New York City is a womenswear specialist owning more than 100 branches in all over Thailand.   Part of Spanish women’s clothing firm Situ S.A, Trucco operates more than 200 stores in several countries, such as Portugal, the Czech Republic, China, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong.
