Toonstar Toys is heading back to Kickstarter to bring a new collection of iconic film, TV and pop culture characters to toys and collectables.

The firm has already reported ‘strong interest from some independent, online and High Street retailers,’ to the lines, but whether they will soon be seen lining the shelves of local toy stores all depends on the success of the latest crowd-funding project.
“I feel the new characters will appeal to a broader audience,” said David Kanter, Toonstar Toys director. “Having been bitten by the Breaking Bad bug and the massive success of the show, we had to develop these guys.”
Joining the Breaking Bad and One Direction inspired line-up, named Evolution and 3D respectively, are the firm’s Spirit Hunters and Hit Men – based on Ghostbusters and Pulp Fiction.
The latest project is Toonstar Toys’ second attempt on the crowd-funding site, following the more retro line featuring characters inspired by the A-Team and Miami Vice earlier this year.
“While I love the retro vibe of the A-Team and Miami Vice, this may have been too specific and only appealing to the older generations such as myself,” continued Kanter.
“The new characters, I feel are more of the moment and appeal to a wider audience which will still retain their following in years to come.”
