Gerresheimer to Unveil Three New Products at FCE Pharma Event

Gerresheimer is all set to showcase user-friendly ideas for packaging at this month’s FCE Pharma in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The three products include a tablet container having a compartment for information leaflets, an attractive aid for administering eye drops and a closure which can be easily opened by weaker hands.

Dubbed as Duma Combi, the tablet container has enough space for an attractive label on the exterior of the container for marketing benefits.

The container can be stacked owing to its rectangular design which saves space at the time of transport.

Gerresheimer’s second innovation is the application tool dubbed DropAid which it says is ideal for children and the elderly. It has a circular opening that fits precisely into the size and shape of the closure.

DropAid has been designed to help open bottles without putting much strength or pressure. By clipping the aid vertically onto the neck of the opened bottle using the semicircular notch, a user can place the bottle stably next to the eye to release the correct number of drops.

Gerresheimer stated: “DropAid can be used with any existing System A "dropper bottles" for ophthalmic applications.”

The third product to be unveiled by the company is the new Duma closure that puts together child-resistant, senior-friendly and tamper-evident characteristics, all in one single closure. Duma closure also features a special opening mechanism that ensures that children cannot open it.

Gerresheimer, which is headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany, has over 10,000 employees with worldwide operations that are mainly focused on pharmaceutical packaging.
