China Textile City Has Turned Producer of Eco-Friendly Fabrics

China Textile City has turned producer of eco-friendly fabrics, as per a recent survey carried out by Shaoxing County Administration for Industry and Commerce.

As part of the survey, random spot checks were carried out on over 280 batches of fabrics from eight projects located in China Textile City, according to the China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC).

The spot checks were conducted for presence of formaldehyde and other quality checks such as colour fastness of the fabric.

The survey concluded that all tested fabrics met the Chinese national standards, which is a marked improvement from about five years ago, when only 40 percent of the fabrics passed a similar test in the Textile City.

The marked effect is a result of the ‘Green Textile city’ activity launched by the Shaoxing County Administration for Industry and Commerce to further enhance the quality of fabric produced in China Textile City.

Under the activity, China Textile City Quality Inspection Station was set up by Shaoxing county government in association with the Quality Supervision department.

So far, the Quality Inspection Station has issued 153 inspection reports to various textile printing, dyeing and processing companies and suppliers.

A “China Textile City fabric sample monitoring report” has also been generated and is provided to various associations and self-employed businessman.

Located in Keqiao City, China Textile City is the largest, well-equipped textile trading center in China, and is the largest textile market in Asia.
