Drumheller Packaging is expanding its facility in Clarksdale, Mississippi, with a $360,000 corporate investment that is expected to create 20 new jobs.
Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) and Coahoma County provided assistance for the venture.
Drumheller Packaging specialises in designing and manufacturing multiwall bags for commercial, agricultural and industrial users.
Governor of Mississippi Phil Bryant said: "Mississippi's existing businesses such as Drumheller Packaging comprise the backbone of the state's economy. When they choose to expand, it serves as a testament to companies around the country and globe that Mississippi is open for business and that great things are happening in our state."
Apart from multiwall bags, the company also offers custom design, foil lamination and flexographic printing services and provides packaging, inspection, distribution and delivery services.
Drumheller Packaging President David Drumheller said: "We are extremely excited about the CDBG grant provided by the state and the future growth it will help offer Clarksdale and Drumheller Packaging alike. The grant will provide rehabilitation to an existing antiquated facility enabling us to create more jobs in a new product market.
"Coupled with our installation of newer equipment, the grant will help us provide a very clean safe working environment for all our new employees."
Drumheller primarily caters to industries like feed, seed, fertilizer, pesticide, plastic, pharmaceutical, chemical, flour, pet food and sugar.
MDA executive director Brent Christensen said: "Working with our economic development partners throughout the state, we aim to provide a business environment that encourages growth and fosters sustainable success for Mississippi's new and existing companies."
