Advanced Infotainment Technology for Volvo Is Developped by Mitsubishi Electric

Swedish carmaker Volvo car has selected Mitsubishi Electric to develop next-generation automotive infotainment systems for all its vehicles launched from November 2013.

Since 1969, Mitsubishi Electric has been supplying the Swedish carmaker with car audios, navigation systems and other infotainment equipment.

The car navigation systems, car audios and audio head units for Volvo will be developed at Mitsubishi Electric Automotive Europe's Gothenburg Technical Center in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Mitsubishi Electric president of automotive equipment Yutaka Ohashi said," As we expand our partnership, we look forward to developing advanced infotainment systems that offer Volvo car owners highly intuitive access to information and entertainment."

Volvo Car president and CEO Stefan Jacoby said that the company designs its cars around people's needs and lifestyle.

"The extended cooperation with Mitsubishi Electric, who has been one of our suppliers for more than 40 years, paves the way for integrating new, user-friendly infotainment and connectivity features in our cars," Jacoby said.
