LG G Flex 2 Has Been Teased and Will Be Released in 2015

The LG G Flex 2 has been teased, with latest reports suggesting the Korean manufacturer’s next flexible phone will launch in early 2015.

With LG having last year set a new smartphone first with the arrival of the LG G Flex, the world’s only consumer available flexible handset, new reports have suggested that the manufacturer is looking to build on this bending party piece next year.

According to the serial, Twitter-based tipster @evleaks, the LG G Flex 2 will land early next year with an all new, ‘unique’ feature.

“LG G Flex 2 coming mid-Q1 2015, possibly with a feature even more unique than self-healing plastic,” the tipster Tweeted.

Sadly there is no word on what this mysterious ‘unique’ feature might be, although speculation has suggested that the handset could be capable of bending up to 90 degrees.

If the “mid-Q1 2015” launch window is accurate, the LG G Flex 2 would be likely to make an appearance during the annual Mobile World Congress gathering in Barcelona.

A launch platform for many leading smartphones, including this year’s Samsung Galaxy S5, MWC 2015 is set to run between March 2 and 5.

Despite having landed in LG’s native Korean late last year, the original LG G Flex did not hit UK retailers until earlier this year.

Setting wannabe owners back a premium £689.95 on a SIM-free basis, the G Flex runs a 6-inch flexible Plastic OLED display and a plastic bodied design which is finished in a self-healing coating capable of repairing minor scratches.

Powered by a 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM, the LG G Flex specs sheet is finished with 32GB of internal storage, a 13-megapixel rear-mounted camera and, importantly, a curved 3500mAh Lithium-Polymer battery.
