Salem, N.H.-based Bolton Emerson Americas — a manufacturer of machinery for the pulp and paper, biofuels, biomass, recycling, converting and cabinet/furniture industries — is expanding applications for its Tornado pulping machinery and Emerson Claflin refiners, which supply clean, homogenous material for feedstock to a range of industries.

The Tornado pulper's rotor/stator design maximizes fiber separation and is able to defiber everything from textiles to carpeting, the company reports. The machine is offered in several sizes and speeds and may be operated either continuously or on a batch basis. The company's Emerson Claflin refiners may be combined with a Tornado to provide a complete material processing system.

Bolton Emerson Americas has divested its auxiliary product lines and relocated from Lawrence, Mass., to Salem as part of its effort to focus on new opportunities and improve its service to its pulp and paper customers. The company will supply its finished machines and wear parts, including rotors and stators for the Tornado and fillings, beaters and bars for Jordan and Emerson Claflin refiners.

The company has named David Kelley president.
