Canadian Coffee Firm Berendo Selects Petainer as Packaging Partner

Petainer, a container manufacturer and supplier of plastic packaging for beverages, has been selected by Canadian coffee firm Berendo as packaging partner to support the launch of the latter’s B2B wet coffee business.

Berendo selected 20L petainerKeg for its new business, which includes coffee and tea stouts.

Berendo co-founder and vice-president Lyse Daigle said: “For our new products we needed a packaging solution which not only protected their quality and flavor, but also met with our sustainability criteria.

“We chose PetainerKeg because of its one-way footprint and recyclability.  It also saves on scarce resources such as water because it doesn’t need to be washed, and cuts out the need for environmentally damaging detergents.”

Berendo is planning to test a Kombucha stout as part of its new product pipeline. The Kombucha stout is planned to be launched and distributed using petainerKeg in near future.

Petainer Canada vice-president Andres Jensen said that its one-way petainerKeg is being used by a diverse range of businesses ranging from brewers and wineries, to cold brew coffee and kombucha producers, due to its total cost of ownership and sustainability credentials.

“We have a great partnership with Berendo and I’m pleased that we are supporting the growth and expansion of the business.”

The Petainer’s petainerKeg is designed to provide low-cost alternative to traditional steel kegs. The fully recyclable petainerKeg also offers sustainability benefits while providing enhanced product protection.
