Sealed Air Introduced The New Newair IB Anti-Static Cushioning Film for Use

Sealed Air has introduced the new NewAir IB Anti-Static cushioning film for use on its NewAir IB Express inflatable cushioning system, and is suitable for shipping electronics.

The film is said to meet military specifications for electrostatic discharge, surface resistivity and creep performance and serves as a protective packaging solution for shipping static sensitive electronic products.

According to the company, the inflated packaging film is produced on the NewAir IB Express system which delivers Barrier Bubble material at 55ft per minute in film widths of 12" and 24".

The material, which provides better product protection, also maintains its cushioning properties throughout the shipping cycle.

Sealed Air inflatable cushioning business manager David Fitzmaurice said the material allows the company to provide value to the expanding global electronics market segment.

"Electronic circuitry is particularly sensitive to static electricity. Companies shipping electronics need packaging solutions that offer static free cushioning that will prevent damage during shipment," Fitzmaurice added.

NewAir IB Anti-Static material also adds a sustainability element to packaging and distribution.
