HIGH POINT - Lexington Home Brands is introducing a Tommy Bahama retail shop program to select retailers at the High Point Market, which company officials says is designed to deliver the kind of lifestyle shopping experience to compete on the same level as the Restoration Hardwares and Crate & Barrels of the world.

Lexington has two roughly 5,000-square-foot Tommy Bahama shops in its showroom here, one showcasing a traditional lifestyle and the other featuring an island lifestyle.

In addition to an array of home furnishings from the various Tommy Bahama collections Lexington has developed over more than 10 years, the shops also include top-selling accessory items associated with the brand's network of more than 130 stores.

"The Tommy Bahama shop concept is designed to create an area of the retailer's floor that replicates the look, feel and energy of a Tommy Bahama retail store," said Phil Haney, Lexington president and CEO. "Our design team will create an entry fa?ade that clearly articulates the brand message from the moment the consumer walks through the doorway."

The accessories, such as scented candles and diffusers, tabletop items and glassware, enhance the display and offer the consumer a way to get involved with the brand with impulse purchases, Haney said.

"A great retail experience begins with the ability for the consumer to engage with the brand and the store at any level of the purchase," he said.

Lexington made an initial presentation to about 25 retailers and also is presenting the shop concepts to qualified dealers and prospects through market by appointment only.
