Fashion e-Commerce Site Avenue 32 Picked up The Best Online Retailer Trophy

Fashion e-commerce site Avenue 32 picked up the Best Online Retailer trophy at the just held inaugural edition of Pure London Buyers Power List, an awards ceremony that recognises contributions of individual brands and companies to the retail industry.

Known as one of London’s most talked about luxury fashion sites, the company was shortlisted among other well-known online destinations such as Amazon, ASOS and MyWardrobe.com in the prestigious category.

In a statement, the founder of the company, Roberta Benteler, said "It's amazing to have won – we"re thrilled! This is our first award and it means so much. The company is only 3 years old and we were up against such amazing companies in the industry.

Other than the web retail winner, the function also awarded the founder of women’s designerwear online boutique Sunday Best, Jan Shutt, in the Best Individual Buyer category.

While receiving the accolade, Shutt said “Wow! How brilliant to have won the Best Individual Buyer award. Travelling the globe to find the next exciting collection is a joy, however, it takes energy and dedication. The reward is the excitement when the Sunday Best team and consumer go crazy for new finds.

In addition to the aforementioned labels, the Hertfordshire-based ladies fashion boutique The Dressing Room scooped the Best Boutique/Individual Retailer prize. The owner of the store Deryane Tadd commented;  am honoured to have won the award this evening, it means so much and especially as it has come as a result of recognition from my industry peers.

Also high-street giant Topshop, which grabbed the Best Multiple Retailer title at the London event, topped the impressive shortlist of retailers like Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, River Island and Whistles.

Pure London Buyers Power List was held as part of UK"s trade fashion buying event Pure London, which showcased some 800 womenswear, footwear, accessory and young fashion brands.

Organised by i2i Events Group, the trade event takes place every February and August. The show offers buyers from UK and international independents, multiples, department stores, etailers and mail order, the opportunity to discover collections launching for the season ahead from over 800 brands, attend catwalk shows and hear from their peers and other industry experts in valuable seminars and workshops.
