US-based pulp and paper company Georgia-Pacific has acquired Excel Displays & Packaging, for undisclosed amount.
Excel Displays & Packaging designs and manufactures point-of-purchase displays, high-graphic retail packaging, in-store signage and industrial packaging.
The acquisition scope included converting plant in Aurora, Illinois; sales and design office in Bentonville, Arkansas; and a minority interest in Five Star Sheets sheet feeder consortium in New Carlisle, Indiana.
Approximately 120 Excel employees will also join Georgia-Pacific.
GP Corrugated president Billy Medof said: "Excel has a highly regarded team and a reputation for quality packaging and innovative displays.

Georgia-Pacific expects the acquisition to complement its current print offering with digital print capability, new capability in point-of-purchase displays, and an additional converting plant.
Excel founder and CEO Michael Mikula said: "Excel Displays & Packaging brings to the table investments in high-speed digital printing, patented club-store packaging (the X Card), shopper marketing intelligence, and a manufacturing facility and design center.
"As our growth and national presence accelerated over the past several years, we were looking for a company that could take our investments, grow them further, and provide access to a larger customer base that can benefit from all that Excel has to offer."
Georgia-Pacific's packaging brands comprise CubeLogic Greenshield, Color-Box Litho-Corr and Brand Ready Packaging.
