Vietnam's Canifa Has Launched Its First-Ever Collection of Woolmark-Certified Clothing

The Vietnamese retailer Canifa, in collaboration with the Australia-based international wool textile organization The Woolmark Company, has launched its first-ever collection of Woolmark-certified clothing.

Following the sell-out success of its Woolmark Blend knitwear range last year, the apparel manufacturer and retailer has unveiled a 53-piece collection for men, women and children.

Jointly designed by the two Project Runway Vietnam winners, Hoang Minh Ha and Ly Giam Tien, the collection is made using 100 per cent Merino wool with a micron of 19.5 and Woolmark blend fibres.

Replete with pieces that easily transition from office attires to elegant everydaywear, the line features sweaters, cardigans, dresses, vests, skirts and scarves with Total Easy Care labels.

The line is part of the Australian wool brand’s Out of Vietnam project, which was launched in 2012 with the aim to promote Merino wool to newer markets.

While talking about the range, the Aussie wool specialist’s chief strategy and marketing officer, Rob Langtry, said, “Canifa's Woolmark-certified collection is a significant advancement for The Woolmark Company's Out of Vietnam project, which was launched in 2012.”

“Initially launched to develop a sustainable supply chain in Vietnam and expand its current manufacturing sector, Canifa's retail success extends far beyond the trade sector, opening doors to the consumer market and introduces Australian Merino wool to customers previously unaware of the fibre's infinite potential,” he adds.

Canifa CEO, Ms Doan Bich Ngoc, also spoke about the line in a statement, “Canifa is honoured to be the first Vietnamese fashion brand certified to use the Woolmark and Woolmark Blend logos.”

“Thanks to The Woolmark Company's introduction to wool in Vietnam, the domestic apparel market has seen some great changes, benefitting consumers with fashionable products meeting international standards. Canifa's slogan is fashion for all, meeting the demands of consumers of all ages and for all occasions,” he states.

Established in 2001, Canifa is known for its high-quality yarn heavy casualwear designs meant for people of all ages and genders.

The Woolmark Company is the global authority on Merino fibres. The organization engages itself into the research and development of better textiles. The company’s iconic Woolmark symbol, which was born in 1964, withstands as a reassuring proof of extraordinary versatility and innate luxury of Merino wool for several decades. (PB)
