EU's Real Steel Consumption Would Fall by 4.5% in 2013

According to report of the Economic Committee of the European Steel Association (Eurofer), it forecasted that the EU’s real steel consumption would fall by 4.5% in 2013.

In the first quarter of this year, the EU’s real consumption decreased by 7.6% year on year, affected by slowdown in end-user activity.

Meanwhile, the key users are sectors such as construction, the automotive industry and the mechanical engineering and steel tube.

For the prospect, Eurofer estimated that the EU’s real steel consumption would rise slightly by 0.5% in 2014.
