Kraft Foods Reformulating Capri Sun Drinks by Replacing High-Fructose Corn Syrup with Suga

Kraft Foods is reformulating a few of its Capri Sun drinks by replacing high-fructose corn syrup with sugar.

This comes in response to increasing demand from parents for inclusion of more natural ingredients in beverages meant for children, Reuters reported.

Using sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup will reduce the calorie count from 60 to 50 in each 6oz pouch of the drinks, the publication reported, citing the company.

The firm anticipates that the reduction of 10 calories in each pouch of its original Capri Sun drinks will eliminate around 25 billion calories from the marketplace every year.

Kraft is also replacing high-fructose corn syrup in Roarin' Waters range with the plant-based stevia leaf extract.

However, the sugar content will remain unchanged in Roarin' Waters line, which is claimed to be a lightly fruit-flavored water beverage.
